FAWL’s Mission
To actively promote gender equality and the leadership roles of FAWL’s members in the legal profession, judiciary and community at large. To achieve these goals, FAWL will uphold the highest standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, promote reform in law, and facilitate administration of justice.
Message From Our Chapter President
As President, it is my responsibility to inform and hopefully inspire our membership concerning, not only achievements of the chapter, but of unresolved issues in the legal community and to present opportunities toward satisfying FAWL’s mission of obtaining gender equality in the legal profession, the judiciary and our community at large. It is my goal this year to encourage our members to become part of the solution, continually asking our members “Are you willing to commit?”
Working to satisfy our mission cannot be accomplished by a sole individual, but rather takes commitment, not from a few, but from many. It starts at the individual level, of which each of you has control. Each of us, as women, need to commit to take the opportunities before us, or at the very least to try. You must be in it to win it, whether it be applying for a seat on a judicial nominating commission, applying or running for a seat on the bench, or running for a position within the local bar association, FAWL, or The Florida Bar.
If we don’t reach for the opportunities available to us, we can never accomplish the mission with which we are tasked. So, I encourage you all to run, apply or accept an offer for whatever may present to you.
I dare you to commit and to become part of the solution.
